he Ultimate Challenge:

We don’t always have time to fit in a long workout, however, just because you can’t spare an hour doesn’t mean that you can’t still challenge yourself. Short, intense strength & endurance challenges are some of the best ways to get a body blast in when you’re short of time or on the go - and there's no equipment required! It’s always important to do a little warm up and cool down, but the main challenge is just 5 minutes and really only takes a little determination!

WHAT YOU NEED: Will power, and your favourite song.

WHAT IT IS: Start with 1 deep squat, 1 burpee, 1 press up. Add one repetition to it every time, so the second set would be 2 squats, 2 burpees, 2 press ups & so on. The key is to get through as many rounds as possible in the 5 minutes - so you’ll need to be quick and keep pushing your pace. Aim for 12 and see how you go!

WHY IT WORKS: This set gives you a full body challenge. It’s a definite muscle burner, working your upper body, lower body, and core whilst still pushing your cardiovascular system. The great thing about this drill is that it will never get easy because your goal is always to fire out as many reps as possible.

MAKE IT HARDER: If you’re feeling ambitious or want an extra push, do this with a buddy of similar fitness to really make sure you push the pace! If you have free weights, you can also turn your burpee into a weighted burpee with a shoulder press at the top instead of a jump. A real killer!

Good Luck!
